Can you believe I.M. Cowgirl is one year old already? It has been a grand ole ride, meeting all the wonderful women introduced through our pages. Cowgirls across the globe, once crowded out of the public eye, are now shining! Isn’t it awesome to see them showcased in so many publications? It is time for you and time for us, because it is the time of the cowgirl! As we wrap up this premiere year, we excitedly anticipate where our trail will lead next.

Don’t you just love meeting your cowgirl sisters from next door, the next state, and across the continents as we share our legacies with one another? Just as women fought for the rights to vote and ride astride, we must come together for those who will follow our trail and fill our boots, making sure the cowgirl spirit and way of life never fades into the background.

Through our pages cowgirls and horsewomen from 11 countries are reading your stories, learning about your lifestyles, and branding your legacy into their thoughts and memories. The trail has been tough, but that’s what cowgirl spirit is all about – never backing down, never saying we can’t accomplish whatever we set out to do. Sit tall in your saddle and hang on, there’s a long ride ahead of us.

We’ll need your help as the New Year approaches; for without you there is no us. We promise six issues for 2009, so send us your ideas, your stories, your recipes. Please don’t be shy – and never believe your stories, thoughts and ideas are not important enough to share with us. You are important, whether you stay at home, work on a ranch, or have a corporate position in a big city.
