Trish Lynn's Grandpa's Famous BBQ Sauce

This recipe is featured in our July/August issue 2008

Comments from I.M. Cowgirl's Kitchen:
Are you searching for the perfect BBQ sauce for your 4th of July picnic? I found it for you with this recipe sent in by Trish Lynn of Weatherford, Texas. Trish prepares this BBQ for her team of Cowgirl Chicks on special occasions, on weekends when she is not performing at a rodeo and when she had TV personality chef Bobby Flay visit her ranch. This Texas style sauce cooks up rich and thick with sensational tangy flavors that linger with each bite. The sauce has just the right amount of heat that will let you know it’s from Texas. The Bob Tallman’s spices can be purchased on-line or at specialty markets and can be used in other recipes as well. This recipe will become a dependable favorite at my house and I hope yours too. I agree with Bobby Flay this sauce is finger licking good!!

Watermelon Salsa

This recipe is featured in our July/August issue 2008

Comments from I.M. Cowgirl's Kitchen:
Surprise your family or friends with this refreshing non-traditional salsa. It will make your summer entertaining a mouthwatering and healthy experience. Watermelon has no fat or cholesterol and it is an excellent source of vitamins A, B6 and C and contains fiber and potassium and the anti-oxidant Lycopene. The jalapeno peppers give this salsa a tongue-tingling sensation that plays well with the sweetness of the watermelon. Warmed tortilla chips sprinkled lightly with sea salt go nicely with this salsa. Cowgirls, I look forward to receiving your favorite recipes and the stories behind them so that I can share them with readers in future issues of IMC.
